ErsatzTV is great for this, but it just entered maintenance mode and I don’t think any forks are currently continuing the work. Still, it’ll probably continue to work without issues for a long time.

I mean, I use it myself but I also get why it’s not really mentioned here, being partially closed-source as well and subscription-based on top of that.

1·24 days agoOP’s post is hilarious because .ml, grad, and hexbear are like the only reasons to use lemmy lmao. .world has always been the worst and a second reddit exodus would do it in.

122·24 days agoYep exactly. There’s no backbone to these. It’s a weekend parade then back to brunch.

123·24 days agoAm effective protest needs to be disruptive. What essentially amounts to a big weekend block party really doesn’t accomplish anything. Some of these events today had speakers thanking cops or platforming Zionists, like what are we even doing here
The only ones out there today really doing things that matter were the real leftists in the crowds trying to educate folks and trying to make them realize that no part of this administration is an anomaly to the imperialist state, they’re just louder about their fascism.
At the very, very least these events could take place in the middle of the week without prior approval from local police or w/e. Disruption is what makes a protest even the slightest bit effective, and a weekend parade doesn’t do that.

91·27 days agoNever. Let shit hit the fan if it has to. Fight back instead of swallowing the whole boot.
Legitimately the way various porn sites addressed similar laws is the way to go. Verification required in this state? “Well we’re no longer serving this state’s traffic at all, and conveniently here’s the contact info of the government officials to blame, enjoy!”

5·27 days agoImagine seeing a bullshit fascist vaguely-worded and practically unenforceable law in a single state that doesn’t go into affect for another year and immediately rolling over and swallowing the boot.
Same dude also vehemently defends Google’s anti-sideloading bullshit, no surprise there.
Fuck this fascist.

32·28 days agoThis is literally all there is to it, along with indentured servitude by tying insurance to employment on top of it. This country’s fucked up healthcare system keeps the billionaires happy and the people stuck appeasing them.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•self-hosted KeePass database in the cloud, what are some good options?English
1·29 days agoYeah realistically I could set mine up to be accessible behind Pangolin, but it’s the kind of thing I feel more comfortable leaving purely on the LAN. Mostly paranoia.

111·29 days agoWhile it doesn’t quite answer the question, I ended up switching from Keepass to Vaultwarden, with the Bitwarden client on all devices. It only syncs at home or while on my VPN, sure, but Bitwarden stores its data locally so even if I can’t connect to Vaultwarden, I can still grab credentials from the local copy.
Yeah this PR seems like it was just closed and ignored, not merged in. systemd maintainers love to comply in advance to fascist bullshit apparently.

6·1 month agoIt’s always hilarious to me seeing people in the wild here saying to avoid hexbear and the like when those instances are practically what make this place worth using lmao
I set up Komga for my wife when the initial post about Booklore went up, and it seems to work pretty well and is pretty lightweight. Kobo sync has been seamless. I’ve heard mixed things about its metadata lookup but her library on here is too small so far to notice any issues.
