I hope this results in the return of more small independent coffee shops.
I used to love checking out the vibe of local coffee shops when I traveled.
Now it’s hard enough to find ones that haven’t been replaced with a generic Starbucks.

Did Big Lentil put her up to this?

I see what you did there.

We are soon to find out if Flock blindly onboards random MAC addresses as new cameras.
If so, it seems anyone with the hardcoded key can authenticate with Flock ask if they were a new camera.

One place to start might be add more content and screenshots to the Polonium home page: https://polonium.vaughanm.xyz/
Currently, that project homepage provides little incentive to want to go install it.

Omarchy may have started out as dotfiles and scripts, but now it’s a formal collection of Arch packages. I’m not sure if all their packages have been upstreamed to Arch, but I expect not:
https://github.com/omacom/omarchy-pkgs/tree/master/pkgbuilds
Regolith may also seem like it would also be a “collection of dotfiles” to customize Sway and other things, but it also has a number of packages that they’ve developed or patched as well.
For example, I think both Omarchy and Regolith developed their own launchers. Regolith created Ilia, and I think Omarchy created something to replace Walker.
One thing both projects have been in common is they prioritized consistent theming across a range of applications. In both cases, it required some customizations to various projects to get them to read centralized theme settings or otherwise respond to theming changes.

Regolith Desktop has some similiar ideas and is based on Sway.
Its native to Ubuntu— support on Arch could be improved.
ClouDNS for DNS is good and cheap.
The more services you expect to be bundled with one provider, the more you will pushed towards bigger companies.

In the 4.x series, reportedly packaging was updated to use a package using standard Arch packaging format.

That old behavior of Signal confused what was encrypted and what isn’t.
When you pay elected officials crap, people who need to earn a wage from their time are disqualified from representing you.

I wonder to what degree the Glass Door reviews are mentioning AI in the context of regular duties vs AI in the hiring process.

How soon until Amazon buys one of each, prints them; ships them to a different warehouse, rips the pages out and scans them back in?

I host my personal site at home with a 15-min battery backup. After that, I accept the downtime. Rarely happens and I haven’t had a single complaint when it does.

Best to avoid eggs for now.

The spec looks reasonable. I could see it replacing XWayland as a more modern and secure alternative for X11 apps not yet ported to Wayland.

Storing private chats forever by design. What could go wrong.
Flipping the default to make chats ephemeral by default would be a massive privacy win.

Compared to what “heavyweight” distro at the time?
