Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•[SERIOUS] what conspiracy theory do you believe is 100% true?
3·3 hours agoI don’t believe he’s dead
Yes they had no military leverage left and decided to strike a bad deal.
Palestinians haven’t struck a deal. The second Western support for Israel collapses, the whole Apartheid will collapse. And at that point Israel will have no claim to any of the land. It all belongs to Palestinians.
Israel can do a 1948 deal right now if it wants to. Even Hamas said they are willing to accept that extremely bad deal. But Israel doesn’t because they are an expansionist genocidal ethnostate believing they can colonize more. So that is their gamble. And by taking that gamble, Israel still has no right to any land at this very moment. And if they ever lose their military advantage before striking a deal with Palestinians, then they lose all the land they colonized with it.
The natives struck a deal with the US. Palestinians didn’t. South Africa didn’t give the Apartheiders a state. One mistake South Africa made was not completely disowning the colonists. Palestinians don’t have to make that mistake.
You’re basically advocating for genocide in a different way with a different winner. That’s not a sustainable or realistic outcome.
Oh no not a “reverse genocide” apologist. You can’t do genocide against colonists. That’s called decolonisation.
You can blame the Brits too if you want to get technical but it’s mostly the US these days.
And a genocidal expansionist Apartheid around the corner is realistic? Like keeping Nazi Germany around the corner after 1945. Surely that can’t go wrong. Your idea is much less realistic.
In the end you or I don’t get to decide what happens to Palestinian land or what’s realistic. Only Palestinians get to decide that. And unless they themselves give up their land voluntarily to Israel in exchange for some peace deal, all of the land still belongs to them. They are still fighting to get it back to this day who are you to tell them “Israel stole their land fair and square”?

4·8 hours agoProbably the WEF or another of those huge capitalist organisations you hear recurring in tinfoil hat conspiracies.
But not on Twitter
if you can figure it out, I have a Nobel Peace Prize for you.
All of the Palestinian land back to the Palestinians whose land was stolen. Unless the Palestinians agree to something different it’s all still rightfully theirs. Nobody has the right to give their land away except Palestinians themselves.

World News@lemmy.ml•US military copied Iran's smuggling tactics to move Gulf oil, report reveals
4·12 hours agoNot sure. Even a good thermal camera or decent radar could probably spot a huge ship. But Hormuz is still around 20 miles wide which is quite a distance…
If you recognize the borders as defined by the UN charter you’re a Zionist. All of the stolen land belongs to Palestinians.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Would you call what happened in Bosnia a genocide?
2·14 hours agoThanks likewise. I might be wrong about Yugoslavia btw, I’ve read chapters of the book (and some other stuff some time ago) but and my knowledge on it isn’t that deep. I also watched the BE video and the BE video still seems to hold up, it’s not denying Parenti book but just adding additional important context. But I’ve already got enough stuff going on along with my posting so I don’t really feel like reading the entire history of the Bosnian war so if I’m wrong on this one I’ll just take the L.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Would you call what happened in Bosnia a genocide?
11·15 hours agoOf course they’re related but there were real systemic atrocities committed by the Serbs against the Croats and Bosnians with NATO support of the weapons blockade and NATO then rewarded them for it with Republic Srbpska.
Likewise NATO did Iran-Contra but that doesn’t mean they somehow support Iran. Maximizing casualties on both sides is always convenient for NATO.

21·15 hours agoDid I explicitly say I didn’t want to investigate it or did I not respond to a comment? My Lemmy inbox frequently has 30+ messages from posts and occasionally I just press “read all” instead of reading everything first to clear it. If you can remind me what where this was you might be right but I don’t recall it.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Would you call what happened in Bosnia a genocide?
11·18 hours agoAre we talking about the Bosnian war or the Kosovo war? My comments pertain to the Bosnian war and I think your quote is talking about Kosovo.
Also I’m not sure where the “BE is an imperialist” notion comes from. He’s quite explicitly saying that you’ll usually be on the right side of history by taking the opposite position of any Western narrative but this is one of the rare exceptions.
