Ah, I get that - wanting an empirical answer rather than speculation is totally understandable, especially when the question is about something people have a tendency to speculate about already.
I didn’t mean by my question to say you shouldn’t post here by the way; maybe next time specifying that you wanted answers with an empirical basis might have helped contextualize the post - I was worried you might have meant to post in a different community, for example.

Anyway, I agree with you that it is an injustice that she was jailed, and I think we are all empathizing with her right now. We would all like the police to take more seriously dangerous stalkers and protecting people, and not serving as the militant arm of the 1%. Unfortunately, the police are an institution that historically have been put in place by the 1% to protect their interests, and there is a long-standing legal ruling that the police are not there to “protect and serve” (the common citizen).

Denying that context is one of the less defensible positions here. What is more defensible is that her threat is clearly empty and the law has stricter requirements about what constitutes a crime.

What would be an example of something empirical that would justify age verification for social media use or pornography? Ultimately aren’t these at worst empty / arbitrary moral panics and at best the realm of moral debate?
That is, you can’t take observations and turn them into a normative system (“is” doesn’t give you “ought”), so what exactly are you thinking can be studied here?

As other commenters have said, the lack of water on Mars would probably prevent these guys from growing on their own. But with a little human intervention, they may be able to grow in Martian soil and help with the terraforming process (assuming we ever terraform Mars).
