No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If the US Military can offer free money for college education..and is part of the government then why does the average Joe have to pay back a small student loan?English
151·29 days agoGotta entice them somehow. 'Think of the places you’ll be able to visit across the world. And we offer paid tuition.* *Must survive your contract with the U.S. Government who will send you into battle at the drop of a hat, a drop of oil barrel or the rise of a military/president’s ego, to take advantage of offer.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you could see one statistic above every person's head, that is updated in real time and never goes away, what would you choose?English
24·1 month agoIt’s a hypothetical question, so yeah. It can be whatever you want it to be. =)
Good catch. I didn’t make the meme but I’ll remake it. Back soon.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•What happens when conjoined twins try to masturbate?English
13·2 months agoIt’s a little humorous, that you thought refugees of Reddit, wouldn’t ‘Reddit post’ on c/Showerthoughts. Haha
I assume it’s pronounced: Me Me Fans, no?
Aye… And a relatable one to many.
Into the putrid and decrepit corners of the internet you spelunk. A daring soul you have., for few are willing to search those depths of the internet, for such meme relics. An admirable task, to then bestow us with such found riches. o7
Thank you for your service. o7
So where do you like to find good memes to share?
To be fair, most of us that are online often, are well aware of this. This decade seems to be the decade to sever ties with major corps and switch over to FOSS.
Lemmy has quite a lot of FOSS related communities to check out. !foss@infosec.pub , !foss@lemmy.world , !foss_keyboards@programming.dev
I’d like to add !PurchaseWithPurpose@lemmy.world as there are good guides for alternatives to the mega corporation software there. You can alternatively check out purchasewithpurpose.io for all of the suggestions.
Also, check out opensourcealternative.to , as it provides a wider selection of categories for FOSS apps to chose from.
Lol. Classic.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•To All the Black Folks of the Fediverse: How has your experience on here vs Reddit been for you?English
11·2 months agoI’m part of the Caucasian Caucus (reference). I wanted to hear from our fellow Fedi users who were black, and hear how things have been for them here. I was going to make a follow up question, to ask them how we could make the Fediverse a more safe and welcoming place for them. It was all with good intent from me. Just wanting to make the world a better place, in any way I can.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•When my cat is somewhere in the house, I don't worry as she's probably snuggled up being sleepy. When my dog is somewhere, I automatically assume she's being naughty or up to no good.English

Music@lemmy.world•Hot Hot Heat - Middle of Nowhere (2005) [Indie Rock]English
2·2 months agoYou’re welcome. =)
I remember at my high school, during lunch time, the student workers would play music that they liked over the sound system in the cafeteria. This was one of the songs I remember hearing a dozen times while walking through. There was a lot of indie rock played during that time. =)

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•[Serious] What's a useful community on Lemmy that you believe most people would benefit from subscribing to?English
20·2 months agoI’d suggest subscribing to !PurchaseWithPurpose@lemmy.world if you’re wanting contribute to a larger positive effort around the world. And subscribe to !hopeposting@lemmy.world for some feel better/good content.

!PurchaseWithPurpose@lemmy.world recently had a post about how many music streams you would need to have per month to make a U.S. monthly minimum wage ($1.257), and Qobuz was the best out of all of them. (At least of the major music streaming services.)
