People who cared about physical games haven’t been PC gamers for 20 years. You could still care about physical games on consoles until about last week.

Valve is also good to gamers with consumer friendly pricing and their client extends the gaming experience rather than running in the background, mostly useless like the console features and the other store fronts.

I also don’t care for steam but I’m not upset about it because I just stopped playing on PC for years. The games I do play, still came out on disc. I remember that CoD MW2 was the game that broke the camels back, even though you installed it off the disc, it still wouldn’t launch without steam. (Same with HL2 but I knew that going into it and didn’t buy it)

The porn is going to go away or be way lower quality. People are not going to post stolen pornographic content on account tied to their real identity.

Start with the assumption the video is fake. Do you trust the source? If the video is of something outrageous, did you notice something feels uncanny? Does the lighting, shot angle, and proportions make sense?

If the answer is not yes, no, yes then it’s probably AI

I agree with you mostly but don’t agree in calling people “diseducated”, I think it removes too much personal agency. Undermining education and replacing it with religious devotion is most definitely a goal of fascist wealthy class but we aren’t there yet.

Public education doesn’t make someone mentally incompetent, so no need to infantilize them. This “hate, fear, and illiteracy” are all choices they’ve made to identify with.

No one is born MAGA, they choose it for themselves. Their lack of self-discipline and unable to delay gratification and propensity to choose the path of least resistance may be preyed upon by the system but they always have a choice.

Its very similar to the food system in this country, it’s all engineered to feel good and make you addicted and overconsume. You still have the choice to eat less and exercise more but it’s hard. The stutters can definitely be frustrating if they affect your device. Sometimes it can be caused by an update to the core and you can switch cores and see them go away. Other times I’ve had that happen on my device, turning down the autosave state frequency helps as well.

If you have a family it’s definitely expensive. And I literally sat down in a booth the last time I went to a McDonald’s and there was a huge turd just sitting on the seat next to me, no lie, and so it’s literally crap as well.

I would have, if it was $750. I just can’t justify the price at $300 more. I have an ancient PC that still plays the old games I love and a PS5 for the new games. Not sure there are many PC exclusives that require top of the line hardware to run.

You don’t have to go closed source to monetize your software (although it does make it easier)
