Branch Avenue is i think a better example of the same thing, just a bit to the southwest.

Not only is it literally surrounded by a sea of parking that seems to house a grand total of like 50 cars when the aerial imagery was taken, but it’s also got a shitass miserable commercial area to one side and it’s got highways boxing it in so good fucking luck walking there from anywhere but the development nearby (doesn’t even have a ROAD connecting it to … No wonder they put in a massive parking lot when everyone has to drive to the subway…

the whole metro tunnel concept is at once too small and too big and it makes me sad that it’s not as revolutionary as it could be.
Like you’d think it would unlock a ton of capacity in the city loop but apparently not, and there are other things in the system preventing significant frequency improvements… Not to mention the people who lost a direct link to the sportsball grounds…

Imagine if they could have gotten some more lines through the metro tunnel such that the city loop can be fully bidirectional or something
