Less of you, please.
Fuck off. I will haunt you as long as you’re spreading your hatred here.
Notice how it’s only brown people you’ve posted articles about? Fucking shocking!

That’s a nice, racist dog whistle you fucking loser.
Fuck off. You’re not welcome here.

I would imagine half of us are playing on the Steam Deck. I haven’t seen any official numbers, but it’s been commonly said that Valve sold millions of them.

HOAs don’t like anything

Same although that’s a truly low bar to clear.

Maybe, but I’ve not read that.
It’s also worth noting that nothing has been proven in a courtroom yet.

Okay. So what? If Valve disappeared tomorrow, those FOSS contributions are still there.

But if it’s could have been on sale for even more through a different store that would have allowed the developer to get a bigger share of the sale, Valve won’t allow that.
It’s not about there being sales. It’s about abusing market power for illegal gain.

No other company has invested more in trying to free our PC games from Microsoft either. On top of that, Valve’s investment still benefits the entire FOSS ecosystem.
I worry about what the company will look like when Gabe isn’t there anymore, but for now, I keep buying on Steam because I want to vote with my wallet, and I vote for Linux and FOSS.
That said,
Asked about this rule, Newell repeatedly denied it exists, even when shown internal communications seemingly showing Valve employees enforcing it: “Valve does not have a policy or practice of dictating prices to third-party software developers on other platforms.” When asked how Valve would react if it ever happened, Newell initially said he was confused by the question and then added, “Many of our partners and many of our customers are quite happy with the service that we’re providing.”
This isn’t the first time I’ve read this, and if Valve is using their position to keep prices higher, then that is bad behavior that needs correction.

“That’s a story for another time.”
And that other time is never.

Likewise, Magneto was right about humans and mutants.
No they won’t be upset because the Debian devs aren’t drooling, knuckle-dragging idiots. This is obviously parody and not at all harmful to their work.

The only necessary explanation is that people don’t want or like the content. There is a ton of NSFW material on Lemmy that exists plenty peacefully.
The issue is that the (low effort, low quality) content is hard to block because of the constant pivot to new communities and accounts. I don’t want to see it, but I could simply block it and be done with it if they’d keep it contained to a single place. Since they’re being SUPER annoying about that though, it gets downvoted. It’s bad form on that user’s part.

Former loan underwriter here: oh they do.

Excuse me while I go brew up some new bots
Honestly it’s probably faster than whatever USB standard that laptop has anyway

I recently rewatched King of the Hill, and I definitely did not appreciate the humor when it originally aired. It is a truly funny - but definitely dry - show about a decent man and his family. He’s conservative, but he is not a hateful man. He wouldn’t like MAGA. He takes care of his neighbors like they’re family - including immigrants - and the community around him looks up to him as a leader.
I wasn’t super prepared for how much I would come to love the show now that I’ve watched it as a middle aged dude.
Mike Judge did a great job with the show, and I genuinely enjoyed the new season too.
