Yep go to that url on your Kobo’s browser and then on your computer or phone and upload a file and click “kepubify” so that it converts to an epub and then send.
A soup.

I wish people like you would have actual understanding of the things you talk about so confidently online. You’re just posting disinformation and you’re absolutely wrong.
Kobo does not need any account to use. Out of the popular mainstream eReaders, it is one of the most open. You can add non-drm ebooks to it without any issues unlike the Kindle.
I’ve been using send.djazz.se to wirelessly transfer books to my Kobo, as well as the open source Calibre program on my laptop.
No accounts required.

How have they received payment in the past?

According to your logic, we should all be paying subscription fees for all video games since there are often patches and dlcs added to them in the future. This is deranged.

Ya wasn’t Palantir the good guys who just wanted to industrialize middle earth and move on into the future and Gandalf and the hobbits were the radical socialists who just wanted chaos and nature and inefficient shit???

He heard that Star Trek gives ya nerd street cred. Probably thinks the Borg are the good guys.

Can confirm. Blew a fuse when Spotify started sneaking AI generated music in my playlists and my whole family said I was overreacting and that it didn’t matter

People on average will literally put up with anything. You can charge them $10/month for their email and you see 90% or so of all people just shrug and then pay it.

It’s never going to be released. Zero prototypes and being pushed by a billionaire.

Your wife probably searched them online. The advertisers got your public IP address to display ads of what was searched. It’s so subtle and people leave digital bread crumbs everywhere that it gives the appearance that the phone is listening to you.
Truth be told it’s more processing power and work to stream and auto transcribe everyone’s audio from their phone. It’s effortless to just scoop up all search and purchase data.

Your phone told advertisers you were located at Lowe’s using GPS. Then your credit card company told advertisers you bought drill bits. If you looked up any cabinet door handles in the past, that data was given to advertisers too. They put all those pieces together to serve you more ads on drill bits and cabinet door handles.

I’ve got bazzite running as a desktop OS and have done so for years. Not everyone is running virtual machines or modifying system files. Some people are using their computers for regular desktop stuff (like gaming, web browsing, photo and video editing, etc.).

I’ve got fedora and bazzite running on Surface Pro 5 and 4 without any issue. Touchscreen even works on Bazzite which was unexpected. Maybe the laptop is doing some weird things under the hood :(

When I was 16-22ish, I knew everything. I was sure of it. I had it all figured out. Everyone was an idiot except me. I tried giving everyone advice because I had the best advice.
Then reality kicked me in the ass and brought me down a couple pegs and I realized that I was so incredibly wrong. I’m just a guy with limited knowledge and the world and universe is so vast and different that no one can “know it all” or even come remotely close.
I’m so thankful for that. Otherwise I’d be a fucking moron with a dumb leather jacket waxing poetic about skilled trades as I pretend that next word guessing chatbots are the pinnacle of humanity’s creation.

You want to charge real money for a slop guide on using slop machines that you made with a slop machine? 🤡🤡🤡

Just because the use case isn’t useful for you doesn’t mean it’s useless for everyone. I have a family who enjoys media and I like sharing with those that I like. Encoding is necessary for people who are not physically in my house and who may be viewing on a mobile device.
You asked why anyone would want these features, I explained why I use them, and you’ve taken it as me trying to convince you that you needed it. Wild.

If you host a server and have a lifetime pass, you’ll be able to share your collection with anyone. It will allow hardware encoding so less lag on your users end. You can also locally download content on your devices to watch offline.
How do you cast from your android or iPhone to am HTPC?
I cancelled my years long subscription to Spotify because they were intentionally feeding me AI music alongside real artists in generated playlists. Every now and then you’d check the artist and there would be no bio or any info online about who was playing the current song.
I’ll never give a single cent to Spotify ever again.
