I imagine that when base building comes, this’ll be an important thing to consider. For the moment, the only two times it has come up as a significant obstacle to overcome in my playtime was during a Lazarus worm thing I did with my org where it took much longer than normal because some players just kept coming back, making the whole thing take twice as long. The second was the Hathor laser which made it a pain in the ass sitting outside the crater with a railgun. Had to take a Nursa to cool down every now and then.

Ditto. In college I was up to 6 cups before noon, some 3 or more later on depending on my class workload.
My shrink gave me a stern talking to and I reduced it to basically nil. Funnily enough and for unrelated reasons I haven’t had a panic attack in years.

Yeah this. Not to mention I’ve seen silicon molds for food prep. Could easily spend sunday with two or three stews on the hob, freeze in those molds when done, and reheated in a microwave in the workplace.

4·9 months agoAnyone here given it some serious gametime? I’m really considering getting it and the only thing that’s stopping me is that I don’t know how the game’s looking. I’ve watched videos and it seems cool, but, well, early access and all.
Arguments against:
- meaningful positive change for the common person won’t be achieved via an elected candidate. If that candidate was willing and able to make some actual change, they wouldn’t be on the ballot. Voting in a representative democracy is illusion of choice.
Arguments for:
- liberals (in the social definition) and conservatives view democracy at least as a tool to get what they want. Conservatives want to twist it to perpetuate and enforce their view of the world, liberals want to get increasingly slow incremental change. It is a losing battle for liberals, but there isn’t enough class consciousness for actual change to happen. I’d rather side with the liberals than the conservatives.
As if that cutty not being torn to shreds as soon as it approaches the bunker

6·11 months agoBorn and bred honduran here. I’d guess this will negatively affect Asfura’s campaign, but it’ll be tight between him, Nasrallah and Moncada. Though I’ll be honest, out of them all, Nasrallah is pretty much the lesser evil here. If it were up to me I’d be voting for Ávila but, sinple majority means he won’t get the job

16·1 year agoThink the biggest innovation they did for csgo was molotovs, and for cs2 was smokes being affected by bullets and explosions. Other than that, I think it’s been largely the same.
Though do keep in mind, I have about 30h across source, csgo, and 2 combined; odds are I missed stuff.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Have restaurants like Taco Bell gotten crazy expensive for what you get or am I crazy?
6·1 year agoA burger worth half a damn (in both taste and portion) in Burger King will cost me nearly as much as a smash burger with jalapeño aioli and loaded fries from a local burger joint. Pizza Hut/Domino’s is the same, there’s a proper italian dining place less than 50m from my place, prices are comparable but the taste just isn’t there for Pizza Hut or Domino’s.
I’m a very stingy person but that price difference is not worth the difference in quality.

7·1 year agoYeah, linux can be almost anything you want it to be. It’ll run faster and look and feel just the same as windows, if not better. The only bad thing, and I say this as someone who’s still on windows and will switch soontm, is that there’s a lot of work that comes with that.
A friend of mine who’s all about linux is always fixing something about his installation. Though from what I know, he’s using Arch, which apparently is less stable/needs more work to get going (something about bleeding edge).
Only reason why I haven’t changed yet is because of VR and adobe programs. As soon as VR is a bit more seamless and I get replacements for adobe I’m off of windows.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's something incredibly useful you can buy for roughly £100 or less?
10·1 year agoI’ll push back on the nonstick pans. Steel pans get you much better sears, are easier to take care of, and last way longer than non-sticks. Even expensive non-sticks will require you to use spatulas made of a soft material and will only last a couple months to a handful of years before the teflon flakes off.
Personally I would save up a bit and get a 9inch, a 12-14inch (depending on hob sizes), and a bigger sauce pan. Would definitely run more expensive than 100 quid but will last much longer.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Easy to play instrument for tavern music / easy music
7·1 year agoPlus, you can go as hard as you want in terms of musical proficiency. You can look up chord charts, learn how to read tabs, or learn how to read sheets.
Though it should be said, guitar is tough starting out. It will make your fingertips sore and your hand cramp. It will take hours of practice to get stuff halfway decent, even things that seem simple. There’s always something to improve at or learn. And no matter how much you practice you’ll always hear imperfections.
It’s a hell of a time commitment (and it can be a money sink) but it is very fun.

A friend of mine graduated some years ago from a good uni. He transitioned quickly from actually writing code to just reviewing AI written code. He hates it, and its got to the point he has automated the reviewing process as well. He’s floated the idea of getting into nursing from how much he hates it.
He used to be very passionate about it.
I relate w you though. I graduated from Graphic Design the week midjourney took off. It’s been… Rough.
