My local super does something similar, and if I ate chicken more often, that’d definitely be the way I’d do it rather than eating processed stuff. Say what you want about the industry, but those things are pretty impressive bargains, and rotisserie chicken smells great IMO.

Apologies for resorting to an LLM, but sometimes complex searches require them:

I… I think I need to sit down. oO
I love hitting the garlic quota from different angles. Also, chili everyday!
Btw, I’ve developed a nice little quick-snack for when I have an avocado that’s in danger of going off. I’ll chop some red onions and mash the avocado with a can of this:
Super-simple to make and produces a fresh guacamole variant. Top with maybe some ghost-pepper dressing or greek yogurt, and Bob’s your uncle.

No, I am merely constraining myself to known information. I don’t make assumptions about a person’s ‘goodness’ based on merely political leanings, public statements and that sort of thing.
If I don’t know for sure then I’m not going to call someone a “piece of shit” over something that might have triggered me.

1·2 days agoI don’t know remotely enough about what Maher is like behind closed doors to say for sure, but there was a time when he was essentially the most progressive mainstream comic in the States. By a wide margin.
Not unlike Joe Rogan to an extent. Once a solid standup comic and interesting interviewer who seemed to get wrecked by fame and money, or something like that.

1·2 days agoHe was brilliant at his best.
One of the world’s top comics, with plenty of specials and his own shows. If there was some kind of critics’ roundtable on comedians, I’m pretty sure he’d be rated at or near the top for years, now.
Hence my disappointment.

Movies@lemmy.world•In the Blues Brothers movie did they only sing two songs and got the hell out? Kind of seems like a waste of money. Unless they were the opening act or something.English

3·3 days agoI just saw below that this is a new clip. Maybe he immatured instead.
Exactly.
He was a smart, funny, excellent comedian for like 10yrs, and then seemingly he devolved to this bullshit shock material. Wtf…?

3·3 days agoAbs - a - fooking - lutely, if you know his earlier material.
Dude had been arguably the funniest comic on earth for ~10yrs, and then this bullshit against women.

31·3 days agoDamn, that’s disappointing.
Jim is so good when he’s taking on guns, idiot politics, crazy stories, and all that… I’m seriously baffled why he’d shift to women as a punching bag.
You mentioned Maher, another comic I used to love, and I can’t help feel you’re right on the button with that analogy. It’s like he came out hitting home runs, and then fell in love with the idea that he automatically had prescient things to say about society.
Something like that, anyway.

2·3 days agoRight at the :16 mark, the idea that tickets for women are ‘easy’
…and then it gets worse and worse from there, like he has to double-down-dunk in order to keep propping up his point.
Fucking embarrassing, mate.

1·3 days agoHe’s absolutely not a shock comic. What a ridiculous take.
His comments on gun control, politics, and whatever else have been leading edge for quite a while, hence my bafflement, here.
everyone’s mind of course always goes to sex
it’s not sex-related
Ricepaper wraps are… the MF bees-knees to me.
Whatever you do, just don’t ask what a girl once said to me when she was tasting some rice-wrapper treats.
Looks pretty good, but more cheese is definitely called for.
Also, your crust is way too thick.

Not even cousins. Brothers. One fermented hot. The other cold.
TIL!
Dang, so how did you learn about that, anyway? But I knew logically it would work despite my instinct saying “Noooo!”
I can’t imagine a life lived as a curious person not pushing Mister Envelope. All hail the curious, daggit.
Oh btw, do they have turmeric root in your area? They started featuring it at my local super, and I gotta tell you that it’s wildly, unexpectedly delicious! Just crunch on the root if one likes as a simple snack (much less forgiving then garlic & ginger), or throw it in whatever. I find it a million times tastier than nasty, dried turmeric, but I think I kinda figured that one out by trial & error.
That is, I was wanting to save some root for later, so decided to dehydrate via my AF. What I discovered is that the simple removing of water (and low heat perhaps?) made it taste worse and worse along the way.
As Dick Proenneke (“Alone in the Wilderness”) might have said, sometimes it takes an old fool to discover these things. :D
Yes indeedy to the sunflower seeds, altho I’d recommend toasting them in the air-fryer first to maximise crunchiness.
I also love the ‘tzatziki sauce’ angle with the cuke, dill and sour cream (plus feta, kinda), and what I’ve found personally is that unflavored Greek yogurt is an adequate sub if you can train your palate on it over time a little bit. I.e., much less kcals, and loads of gut probiotics.
Cool idea, in any case. And now I can’t remember if “craisins” are meant as dried cherries or dried cranberries. I’ve had both, so…
