Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Which Video Game was most influential on you as a child, and why?
2·10 months agoI replied to the OP in an adjacent post but I’ll paste it here as well.
My very first track (1996) Anteros Beat
My personal favorite track (2011) Starbortorium
And my last track that I never got to finish because I got really sick (2012) I’m Not A Bargain
I was never formally trained in music but I absolutely fell in love with everything about it. I ended up writing poetry and lyrics a lot towards the end up my recording journey. I’m hoping to get back into it once my son is a bit older but I’d need to purchase a lot of gear I sold haha.
Thank you for listening. It means the world to me.

7·10 months agoIt wasn’t my first RPG, but playing through Final Fantasy 6 (3 in the US) in middle school made me fall in love with music.
I ended up asking my parents for a digital piano and acoustic guitar which eventually spiraled into download ModPlug Tracker to sequent music. I didn’t have a powerful computer back then so I’d record one-shot samples from my digital piano and spent a few hours each day trying to create my own music.
I stopped recording around 2012 because I got really sick and music didn’t pay the bills. I’m a father now with a 5 year old son and I’m looking forward to sharing my love of music with him.
If anyone is interested, I can share one of my very early tracks and one of my last recordings to listen to. It’s one of my favorite things to do, sharing the culmination of my work.

You should see some of the “blueberry” muffins they sell at the store nowadays. It’s not even blueberry let alone fruit. Some are so bad and cheap it’s just fruit flavored pellets with the packaging saying “Blueberry flavored” muffins.

1·11 months agoI’m 90 hours into Octopath Traveler II. I’ve been playing it for the last 5 months and honestly it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long. Thoroughly enjoying it and am on the last portion of the game.
I’m considering COE33 or FF7 Rebirth next.
She makes me want to play Rift of the Necrodancer.
I’m Asian and this once happened to me when I went to get some Chinese fast food. Another customer asked why I was there when I could just make this stuff at home.

I use my blinker even when turning into my own driveway and the reason is simple:
The signal isn’t for me. It’s for others to know my intentions.
One major thing that makes driving with others safer is predictability and your blinkers can help with that.

Gaming@beehaw.org•Adult gamers of Lemmy how do you find time to game without being exhausted of the screen?
13·1 year agoMy gaming sessions on my Steam Deck are about 1-2 hours around 2-3 times a week. It takes me about 4-6 months to finish an RPG.
Maybe a conversation for a different time. Have a good one.
Being able to food on the table is a priority for all of us and I use a computer for that as well.
The argument was about ecological damage which is also true, especially for running all this hardware to run these models to create said art.
Perhaps I need my fridge more than I need AI generated art.

3·1 year agoI randomly decided to play a round of Tetris in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 and ended up playing my best game ever of 715 lines with 54 minutes of play before losing. It was supposed to just be a quick 15 minute session but turned into something quite chaotic and fun!

This is the kind of post that really makes me worried for the future. I’m a full stack dev with 12 years of experience and I’m not entirely sure how I would do our there in the job market if I were to lose my job tomorrow. My boss says I need to get extremely familiar with vibe coding to get the edge if I were to apply around.
As others have mentioned, definitely speak with a recruiter if you haven’t yet. Best of luck to you!
