Germany is still progressing, just at a lower speed. I agree that’s not good, but it is nothing compared to how Trump has prevented the building of new Wind turbines that were billion dollar projects, and had ZERO federal spending. He just does it out of spite.

I bet the German government doesn’t prevent privately funded or state projects. They may not be the best on renewables, but they are not insane like the situation is in USA.

OK, that I can understand, it may feel subjectively nicer, but there are things you can’t do technologically with an SLR, like for instance utilize the light sensitivity of the digital sensor for low light photography.

Above 80% is all year total.

The latency between what you see and when the picture is taken is mechanical, using the viewfinder on a SLR gives zero latency while using it, but when you press the trigger, there is a latency you will never see.
With a high FPS screen for the viewfinder, the latency can easily be way below human perception.

No SLR is the ones with the mirror. DSLR are digital with a mirror. And they are definitely not “budget”, they are the high end. Except today on a high end digital camera the mirror is not necessary as you can use the sensor for the viewfinder instead.

Yes they can. the technical difference is only in how the viewfinder works.

You are probably comparing a high end DSLR with a low end digital camera.
There is no reason why there should be noticeable latency on a high end digital camera. In fact the response time can be even shorter than with DSLR that has a mechanical mirror.

True, but with a constant 100% plus generation from renewable, there obviously wouldn’t be any fossil fuel burned to generate electricity. Here we are already at 80% of our total yearly electricity generated by renewables.
When that reaches 100%, it can be done by utilizing surplus at peaks to generate hydrogen, exactly to completely prevent any use of fossil fuels.

100 years is a very long time, back in the 70’s it was considered a lofty goal to achieve even 10%, and now we are at 80!!
I don’t think you have historical perspective.
Personally I think within another decade we will surpass 100% here, and have the ability to export a lot of surplus renewable energy.
I was also mostly thinking about civilized countries, not so much for instance USA.

What? Why didn’t they do that a decade ago? DSLR is freaking useless with a digital camera. But apparently other brands still have them too? But why use DSLR when you can get a more exact image representation from the sensor? Seems like it’s based more on tradition than actual usefulness.

Of course if you make an old retro film camera, the system is still useful. But my guess is that is a very small niche market. It’s inferior in every way and more expensive and time consuming.
